Alleyne’s Academy Sponsored Walk
Grace Francis got in touch with the Peter Pan Centre when she wanted to walk the distance of climbing Snowdon with her friends at Alleyne’s Academy Sixth Form. Grace said, “We decided to raise money for the charity as some of us know some of the families that the charity supports. As students, many of us also want to work with vulnerable children in the future so wanted to help make a difference to their lives. We completed our walk and managed to raise £800 on Justgiving, which we are really proud of.”

Des McManus’s London Marathon
Des McManus, Founder and owner of FFS Beauty, chose to run the London Marathon to raise funds for the Peter Pan Centre.
He made it even more challenging by dressing up as a giant razor, the FFS Beauty Mascot! Already an experienced athlete, Des found it surprisingly difficult to run in the outfit so had it uniquely adapted with solar panel fans to help cool him down as he ran. He successfully completed the marathon and we were thrilled that he raised over £1,000.
Des decided to support the Peter Pan Centre after researching local children’s charities in Staffordshire and developing a strong affinity with the charity’s vision. It also happened to be founded in the same year Des was born.
After visiting the children, Des said ‘It was a real pleasure seeing how much the service makes a difference to the children. The work you do holds a special significance because of the way you empower children with special needs. I look forward to continuing to support you in the future!”
